Our Classes Besides our regular vocal and instrument lessons, we also offer specialized instruction in theory, rhythm, composition/songwriting, and music business. With an emphasis on your personal goals and skill level, we give music lessons entirely tailored to you. Personalized lesson plans We offer instruction in vocals, guitar, ukulele, piano, electric bass, and more. We also offer private lessons in music theory, rhythm, ear training, songwriting/composition, and music business. Students have a personalized lesson plan which may include preparation for Music Festivals, Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Examinations, Solo Recitals, Workshops, Ensembles and Orchestra. Group/sibling lessons are also available. Since lessons are currently online, we ask that group lessons be kept to the same household. Lesson Structure Generally, weekly lessons—available in 30 or 60 minute slots. Instruction tailored to you, your skills, your goals, your learning style, and your taste in music. We also offer preparation for Royal Conservatory of Music Examinations and some special training in songwriting/composition, music business, and theory. Special Lessons We would like to let you know that if you would like some extra lesson time, whether on a regular basis or on a more casual, stand-by manner, that this is always an option. These lessons will mainly take place at off-peak times or if we have a cancellation. This can be quite helpful if you are preparing for an audition, recital, or examination. HMS Attendance Policy All students are required to read and sign the attendance policy. Regular and punctual attendance is expected of all students. If it is necessary for you to miss a lesson, please let us know as soon as possible. We will try our best to accommodate any changes if we are notified 48 hours prior to the lesson time. If the teacher cancels a lesson, every reasonable effort will be made to make up the lesson at a mutually convenient time. Private lessons start at $30 per half-hour lesson, paid monthly. Lessons missed due to student absence are not refunded. *Songwriting/composition classes, and some specialized classes are a slightly higher rate than our standard music instruction. Contact us.
