The Canadian Japanese Cultural Centre of Hamilton offers a diverse range of artistic, cultural, and martial arts programs for all ages, focusing on Japanese Canadian heritage and community engagement. Serving Hamilton and surrounding areas, the centre provides unique opportunities to learn traditional Japanese arts, martial arts, language, and cultural activities in a welcoming environment. Membership is required to participate, fostering a strong community connection and cultural preservation.

Aikido
Aikido is a martial art focusing on harmony and blending with an attacker’s energy to resolve conflict peacefully. Classes are offered for adults and children, emphasizing mind-body coordination and self-defense without inflicting serious injury.
Iaido
Iaido is the art of drawing and attacking with a sword in one motion, focusing on technique, etiquette, and personal development. Classes are suitable for children under 13 and adults, with advanced sessions available.
Jiu-Jitsu
Traditional Clarke's Jiu Jitsu and Grappling classes for children and adults focusing on discipline, conditioning, and effective techniques. First class free to try.
Judo
Judo classes for juniors and adults focusing on competitive and recreational practice, including high performance training and conditioning.
Wado Kai Karate
Wado Kai Karate classes for juniors and adults teaching traditional Japanese Karate techniques, kata, and sparring.
Kendo

Koyukai 60+
A social club for Japanese-Canadian seniors aged 60+, offering social activities, parties, bingo, luncheons, and trips to foster community connections.
Ikebana (Japanese Flower Arrangement)
Classes teaching the art of Japanese flower arrangement focusing on creative expression through classical and modern styles.
Japanese Language Classes
Beginner to advanced Japanese language classes focusing on reading, writing, speaking, and cultural understanding, offered both in-person and online.
Suzuran Odori (Traditional Japanese Dance)
Traditional Japanese dance group preserving and sharing Japanese culture through seasonal and regional dances, with lessons and workshops.
Anime Club
Inclusive social club for anime fans to watch, discuss anime, play games, and socialize monthly.
Tai Chi
Mindful practice of slow, graceful movements to improve balance, flexibility, and reduce stress, offered in beginner and intermediate levels.
